Mike Ness says he got the inspiration for "Ball and Chain" from a folk prayer of the same name. I am wondering if anyone has ever seen this prayer, and know where to find it?

Out of all the times I have heard mike comment about this song, I have never heard him say it was taken from an "old prayer". Ive heard him say it was a non-religious cry for help, that he wrote.

Yeah, if anything I think you can take that comment that he wrote the song as a sort of old folk prayer, basing it on those kinds of verses. Maybe thats what he meant, not that it was based on another prayer.
